FAQs

What do you mean by 'private tour'?

At Heritage Tours, a private tour means that your guide is there just for you. You will travel by private car with your guide driving. There are no big buses. No waiting. No annoying strangers. And no umbrellas to follow. Travel at your own pace and, with the help of your guide, follow your passions.

Will there be others in my group even if there are only two of us?

No. Your private vacation is just that: private (we do require a minimum of two people). The more of your friends, the merrier. For two people, you will be driven in a private, air-conditioned Mercedes sedan. For three or more people, you will be driven in a private, air-conditioned Mercedes Van. The cost of fuel is included.

How do I make arrangements?

Simply give us a call at 212 206 8400 or 800 378 4555. Reservations are placed upon receipt of a non-refundable $500 per person deposit and one reservation form per person.

The balance is due 60 days prior to the tour. Just tell us whether you want our hand-picked SELECT hotels or hand-picked DELUXE hotels—Morocco’s most luxurious. And tell us if you already have your arrangements and what those arrangements are.

How can I make payment?

Payment is welcome by check, wire transfer or American Express.

What about Air transportation?

We are happy to help with air arrangements or you can book them directly. We can provide direct flights from New York’s JFK Airport to Casablanca and arrange your return from Marrakech aboard Royal Air Maroc.

What if I prefer to make my own air arrangements?

Many people prefer to make their own arrangements. If making your own arrangements, please note the land package begins in Casablanca and ends in Marrakech. If needed, we can provide domestic air to supplement any international air itinerary. If you arrange your own air, PLEASE HAVE YOUR AIR ARRANGEMENTS PRIOR TO BOOKING.

What is included on this private tour?

All hotels, of course. One of our corps of excellent guides—yes, the very same guides we use for our museum and VIP clients (you are one of them now). All of your guide’s expenses are included. Very comfortable private transport except for your last few days in Marrakech, where you do not need transport. We include off-road desert transport for your Sahara excursion as well.

A sumptuous breakfast is included every morning. Two dinners are included: at your hotels in Erfoud and Ouarzazate. In Rabat, Fes and Marrakech, we give you the names of the best restaurants so that you can choose where to experience the joys of Moroccan gastronomy.

You are on your own for any incidentals as well as the customary gratuities. A full list of what is included and not included is found at the back of the full itinerary.

Do I need a visa to travel to Morocco?

American passport holders do not need to arrange for a visa in advance. If you are not an American citizen and have questions about visas, please contact the Moroccan Embassy in Washington at 202 462 1919 or the Moroccan Consulate in New York at 212 758 2625.

What if I live outside of the US?

Heritage Tours has many clients from South America to Europe to Asia. Even Moroccans looking for truly memorable experiences have booked with us. We can certainly provide the same quality experience in Morocco no matter where you are from.

Are children welcome?

Of course, Morocco is an excellent vacation for families. Our guides have ample experience with many of our clients who have brought their children.

What if I have something else in mind for my Moroccan adventure?

Heritage Tours can arrange a private tour based around your preferences, tastes and budget. Simply contact one of our travel coordinators and they will be pleased to discuss the many experiences possible in Morocco.

We arrange honeymoons, family gatherings, corporate events and Museum tours. Whether you prefer trekking in the High Atlas or a luxury resort in a Palm-grove oasis outside of Marrakech, the highly-qualified staff at Heritage Tours can offer their expertise in arranging a custom-designed experience.
